FIELD TRIPS
Embark on an educational adventure with Zoo Knoxville’s captivating field trips! Students get to explore wildlife and habitats from around the globe without leaving East Tennessee. We offer three engaging learning experiences where students can dive deep into the world of animals, conservation, and the natural world.

Field Trip Rates
Pre-K to 8th Grade
$10/studentOne free chaperone ticket provided for each 10 students.
Accredited schools, preschools, year-round daycare, head start programs and organized home school co-ops are eligible for reduced field trip admission rates.
9th Grade and Up
$12/studentOne free chaperone ticket provided for each 10 students.
Accredited schools, preschools, year-round daycare, head start programs and organized home school co-ops are eligible for reduced field trip admission rates.
Chaperones, Teachers & Parents
$20 in advance or $22 day of event per individual.
One free chaperone ticket provided for each 10 students.

Plan Your Field Trip
Complete and return the field trip reservation form at least 3 weeks in advance of your trip, dates fill up quickly so be sure to secure yours as soon as possible. For cancellations and reservation changes (including rain dates) contact our Field Trip Supervisor at 865-637-5331 x1443.

Buses park for free; parking for other vehicles is $5.

Groups
General Groups, such as reunions, day camps, church & community groups of 15+ guests receive a discount when pre-booking and paying as a group. Reservation forms must be submitted two weeks in advance.
Learning Experiences
Make the most of your visit by adding a special learning experience with a zoo educator! Not only are these programs fun and engaging, they also fulfill Tennessee State Standards on a variety of topics.
Edventure Modules
Start your trip off with stackable Edventures! Choose one to three 15-minute programs that include biofacts and an activity on a curriculum point led by a zoo educator.
$1/student/module, (min. 15, max 50 students/module). Larger groups: consecutive or simultaneous programs may be available.
Learning Tours
Take your 8th grade or older students on a zoo tour with a dedicated zoo educator for an unforgettable fun and educational trip. Tours are 45 minutes in length.
Learning Tours are $2/person for groups up to 35 (min. 15 people).
Career Tours
Curious about what it’s like to work at a zoo? This behind-the-scenes learning experience gives students a closer look at careers in animal care, conservation, and zoo operations. During this 1.5-hour guided program, students will explore how animal care teams support wildlife through daily husbandry, enrichment, and conservation work.
Designed for middle school and older students, Career Tours provide an engaging opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world careers in wildlife and science.
1.5 hours, 15–25 students, Maximum 4 groups per day (limited availability), One month advance booking required
Classroom Program
Explore your educational topic in a zoo classroom setting with one of our educators and an ambassador animal. Up to 3 programs per day. Classroom programs are 45 minutes in length.
Kindergarten and above: Students will use scientific observation to investigate unique biofacts (animal skins, bones, feathers, and more) and discover how each animal uses adaptations.
Classroom Programs are $5/student (min. 15 students-max 60 students per program).

Please note that we limit group sizes to give each student a more personal experience. If your group is larger than our maximum, you may schedule a second class at no minimum charge.
