In Memoriam: Einstein
Einstein wasn’t just a parrot—she was a Zoo Knoxville legend. With her quick wit, unmistakable voice, and incredible ability to connect with people, she turned everyday zoo visits into lifelong memories.
Over the years, Einstein amazed audiences far beyond Knoxville, earning national attention through appearances on America’s Got Talent, a TED Talk, Pet Stars, and Good Morning America. But her greatest gift was always the same: making people laugh, surprising guests with a perfectly-timed phrase, and reminding us how intelligent, curious, and full of life animals can be.
Einstein helped generations of guests fall in love with birds and see them in a new way—smart, social, and deserving of deep care and respect. She also held a special place in the hearts of the team who cared for her every day, building a bond that went far beyond words.
We’re grateful for the joy she brought to our zoo family and to everyone who had the chance to meet her. Thank you, Einstein, for the laughter, the wonder, and the years of unforgettable moments. You will always be part of Zoo Knoxville.
