Central American Birds

This tranquil aviary has quite a bit of activity, both on the ground and up above. Several species of ducks, including black-bellied whistling ducks—white-faced whistling ducks and wood ducks—are often swimming about in the pond and share the floor of the aviary with their ground-dwelling neighbors, the crested screamers, whose call is one of the loudest of any bird. Roosting in the trees, you’ll fine roseate spoonbills, boat-billed heron and cattle egrets.
